We are postponing the reopening of StormStriker’s North American server from July 31 to August 14.
We are truly sorry to everyone who has been waiting.
This may be StormStriker’s final chance.
Our small team is already carrying significant debt, and these additional two weeks will push us even further. Even so, we believe this delay is necessary to properly prepare the launch events, rewards, and marketing StormStriker needs to have a real chance.
We are taking on more risk because we believe StormStriker deserves one proper opportunity to prove itself.
That is why we are asking you to wait for us for just two more weeks.
We began with a dream: to create a skill-based PvP game that felt different from an FPS.
Our team was acquired by a larger company, and we believed StormStriker had finally found the support it needed.
Then, one Friday evening, we received an email informing us that all 45 members of the development team would be laid off the following Monday and that the project would be shut down.
It was a sudden decision driven by short-term financial priorities. The game’s quality, long-term potential, and the voices of the people who had built it were given little room to matter.
We asked for a little more time to find another company willing to take over the team and continue the game.
We were denied.
StormStriker was supposed to end that weekend.
But ten of us refused to let it die.
We left, formed an independent studio, and continued developing the game ourselves.
After forming our studio, receiving investment to continue StormStriker felt like a miracle. Without that support, the team and the game might not have survived.
But under the investment agreement, our investor held priority rights over any additional funding, which meant we were not permitted to seek investment from anyone else.
